^{Clemont and Serena first met when they were young. She initially finds Clemont to be a pervert due to making a bad first impression on her years later. Once she finds out that the 16 year old Clemont is the same one she travelled with all those years ago and that he was working to get into Smogon University to be a professor, she shows a slightly softer side as she offers to tutor him. On several occasions, Serena has shown the temptation to kiss Clemont, apparently because he has nice eyes and she's a sucker for a romantic atmosphere.}
^{After spending some alone time with Clemont, followed by several months without him due to him departing for the Sinnoh region to do research with Professor Sycamore, Serena finally began to develop romantic feelings for him. She then came to grips with her emotions and admitted that she loved Clemont.}
